OUR PHILOSOPHY |
Racewood was born from a simple idea: to create a better way for riders to train safely and effectively. It all started when Bill Greenwood, Racewood founder, was approached by a well-known jockey seeking a rehabilitation solution after an injury. Inspired by this challenge, he built the first Racewood simulator, and the concept quickly grew into a niche all its own, a subculture of equestrian simulator coaches dedicated to using technology to develop better riders.
From those early days, Racewood has remained a family-run business. Our close-knit team has grown alongside the company, with many staff members working with us for decades, bringing continuity, expertise and a shared passion to every simulator we build. Over the years, we’ve forged lasting relationships with our customers, many of whom have been with us for 20 years or more. These enduring partnerships are a source of pride and a testament to the trust and commitment that define Racewood. Today, we continue to support the global community of riders and coaches who share our vision, nurturing the unique subculture of equestrian simulator training that we helped create. Based just outside of Tarporley, a small village in the heart of Cheshire, UK, the family-run business is proud to make use of a local supply base and industry to manufacture the products. We are committed to building simulators that empower coaches to develop better, more confident riders. As a close-knit company, we believe in relationships that extend far beyond the initial purchase. Every customer becomes part of our wider community, and we remain committed to supporting you as your training evolves.
Innovation has always been at the heart of Racewood. As the needs of riders and coaches evolve, so do our simulators. We continue to push our technology, refine our software and explore new ways to enhance the training experience, ensuring that Racewood remains the benchmark for equestrian simulation worldwide. |
INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS |
As demand for simulators has grown across a wide range of equestrian disciplines, Racewood has continually driven innovation in simulator design, integrating the latest technologies to enhance training. Modern simulators are now increasingly interactive, allowing riders to experience subtleties that were once nearly impossible to replicate. By syncing cutting-edge technology with our simulators, we can capture a wealth of data; from balance and posture to rein contact and provide meaningful feedback to both instructors and riders. This level of analysis is invaluable to our users, making precise training insights far easier to obtain than ever before.
Racewood simulators have also attracted attention beyond the equestrian world. Over the years, we’ve collaborated with film producers, documentary makers, advertising companies, and TV crews for household-name brands such as Walker’s Crisps, as well as popular shows including The Big Breakfast and A Question of Sport. These projects highlight the versatility and impact of our simulators, both on and off the training arena. |
