ABOUT US |
OUR HISTORYBill Greenwood (founder and Managing Director) developed the first Racehorse Simulator in 1990, following an approach from a leading jockey who wanted to maintain his riding skills and fitness whilst recovering from injury. This first simulator was a huge success and threw the spotlight onto how simulators could be used in a positive way to assist with training new or injured riders. Over time, more racing schools began to adapt their training programs to include the use of a simulator, as it now enabled trainers to work with young apprentices in a safer and more controlled environment. Having firmly originated within 'Racing', Racewood has significantly diversified the product offering to cater to a wide variety of equestrian disciplines; from Dressage and Jumping, through to Polo and Trot racing.
Based in Tarporley, a small village in the heart of Cheshire, UK, the family-run business is proud to make use of a local supply base and industry to manufacture the products. We are market leaders when it comes to equestrian simulators. |
INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS |
Over time, and with increasing demand for simulators from across various equestrian disciplines, Racewood has driven the development of new simulator designs that use the latest technologies. Simulators are increasingly becoming more interactive to the extent that riding subtleties that were once almost impossible to recreate, are now becoming standard features. We work hard to sync available technology with the simulator, so that a vast array of information can be captured and feedback to the instructor or rider, such as balance or rein contact. Current users find this level of analysis invaluable and obviously much easier to obtain when using a simulator.
Over the years Racewood has been approached by various film producers, documentary makers, advertising companies and film crews for house-hold names such as Walker's Crisps, and well known, popular TV shows including the Big Breakfast and A Question of Sport. |
USED WORLDWIDE |
The Racewood Simulators are used for performance, fitness and rehabilitation by Racing institutions and large equestrian venues world-wide, but we also meets the needs of individual customers who might operate on a smaller scale: we are committed to being able to deliver our products to wherever you need them and we will work hard to ensure you have the all the support you need when getting started.

We take immense pride in creating a quality product that we believe helps to make better riders. As a small company, we strive to build lasting relationships with everyone we sell to - our aim is to continue to work together closely after you make your purchase, ensuring that you get the most from your simulator. We hope that this in turn facilitates more effective and safer training.
